Independent public school
In 2016 Annandale State School was successful in its application to the Dept of Education and Training to become an Independent Public School after a significant community consultation process.
The establishment of our school
Annandale State School opened its doors on the 27th of January, 1998.
The school was still very much a building site as only half of the classrooms had been finished.
Later in the year, the school's first P and C meeting was held on the 6th of April 1998.
When the school opened only half the buildings were completed and a torrential wet season had turned the playgrounds into mud. The school operated side by side with a building site for the first six months and the children were able to watch their school being built before their very eyes. The excitement of working in such a challenging environment has had a bonding effect on both our students and staff, and one of the most noticeable characteristics of Annandale is the tremendous pride everyone has in our beautiful school.
The school was officially opened on 9th September 1998. This day is now celebrated annually as Annandale Day. On this day each year the school celebrates its successes and recognises the significant features that distinguish it.
