Pedagogical framework

Pedagogy is i​ntegral to systematic curriculum implementation.​ At Annandale State School, teachers consider high-yield evidence-informed approaches to teaching through the use of the 'Whole School Approach to Pedagogy​'.   Teachers consider the three principles of the; curriculum, learner and learning when making informed decisions about how to engage and support student learning.







High quality teaching practices

Our teachers demonstrate high quality teaching characterised by:

  • high expectations of all students

  • deep knowledge of learning areas and pedagogical practices

  • continuous monitoring of student achievement

  • offering a safe, supportive, inclusive and disciplined learning environment.

Evidence based decision-making

Annandale State School teachers utilise school performance data to monitor student learning and shape learning programs.

Performance data is gathered by:

  • External assessments e.g. NAPLAN data, international competitions and assessment competitions

  • Internal e.g. formative and summative tasks, academic achievement levels, reading benchmarks, individual student goal achievement

  • Anecdotal feedback e.g. student feedback, community feedback
