English as an Additional Language / Dialect ( EAL/D)
Annandale State School has students from many countries. Many students have sufficient English language skills to work within the Australian Curriculum in a school setting.
Students who have insufficient English Language skills to achieve at least a C standard in English assessments are supported through the EAL/D Teacher Mrs Tegan Hart. Mrs Hart works closely with the Special Needs support Team and the class teachers to support identified EAL/D students.
Bandscaling is a tool which is used to monitor the English proficiency of EAL/D students and monitor their progress.
