Annandale State School has a very active sporting program. It has a comprehensive program which covers both intra-school and inter-school competitions. Netball, hockey, basketball, athletics, cross country, rugby league and AFL are all included in the program.

All students are active participants in the Education Queensland's Smart Moves program which ensures all students participate in at least 30 minutes of active exercise per day.

The results of interschool sports and sports draws may be obtained by visiting the Townsville Primary School Sport website.

All students are allocated to one of the four sporting houses:

  • Freeman  (gold)

  • Perkins (green)

  • Bradman (red)

  • Fraser (blue)

Sporting houses compete in athletics, cross country and swimming.

These allocations remain the same throughout your child’s time at the school. Children in the same family are allocated to the same sporting house.
